FORMATTING INSTRUCTIONS

Submitted papers must be no longer than ten (10) 8.5"x11" pages, using a 9 point font with single spaced leading, and a maximum text block of 6.5 inches wide by 9 inches deep. The page limit includes everything: references, title page, figures, appendices, etc. Please take note of the following:
  • Pages should be numbered.
  • The paper should print well on black-and-white printers, not color printers. This is especially true for plots and graphs in the paper.
  • The output should be formatted for printing on LETTER (8.5" x 11") size paper. All material (except page numbers) should be in a 6.5" by 9" block on each page. The block should be formatted with two columns, with 0.25" separation between the two columns.
  • Symbols and labels used in the graphs should be readable as printed, and not only with a 20x on-screen magnification.
  • Try to limit the file size to less than 15 MB.
  • We’ll ask accepted papers to add copyright information, keywords, etc. to fit the camera-ready requirements for ACM.
If you use LaTeX or Word, the following templates and instructions are available:

WORD Users
  1. Please download the template from the ACM website: http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html.
  2. Be sure to format your document for American Letter (8-1/2x11). Please check that your submission adheres to the set page limit for your type of submission (see above).
LaTEX Users
  1. Please use sig-alternate class file from the ACM website (http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/template.html) or the class file that is attached sig-alt-full.cls. Both of these class files are tighter formats and automatically insert the ACM copyright statement and conference info that is needed for papers accepted for publications.
  2. LaTex user, you MUST use Type 1 fonts for your submission, for help see: http://www.acm.org/sigs/pubs/proceed/sigfaq.htm#a14 for help. PDF LaTex can be used to create a pdf file for your submission, but all fonts MUST be embedded. Be sure to see the recommendations for your figures and images above.
  3. Be sure to format your document for American Letter (8-1/2x11). Please check that your submission adheres to the set page limit for your type of submission (see above).

* For workshop submissions, please check individual workshop pages for formatting instructions.
